Description:

Drafting All locations Full Time

12/8/2024

  • Structural drafting opportunities across the country
  • Working in a dynamic, exciting environment on live projects
  • Taking part in our very own specially designed drafting programme

For over six decades, Holmes has led the engineering industry in invention, creativity and quality. During that time, we’ve worked right across New Zealand and the world, delivering premium structural, civil, and fire solutions to thousands of landmark projects. Our expert drafters have played a huge part in our success.
We accept a handful of great Graduate Drafters each year to kick-start their structural drafting career in one of our four Holmes offices in New Zealand (Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch). It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to work alongside Senior Drafters and Engineers on exciting live projects, bringing our engineering concepts to life. You’ll be working with advanced software like REVIT, creating accurate, compelling drawings that are vital in guiding design and construction.
We don’t expect you to know everything right off the bat—instead, you’ll be learning alongside an experienced Senior Drafter, asking questions, visiting sites, contributing to team meetings, and ultimately growing your skills from day one. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of fun working with positive, motivated people who love delivering exceptional projects. Our drafting team is at the forefront of the industry, working on great projects nationwide, including the Wellington Town Hall, Auckland International Airport, Commercial Bay (Auckland), and the Christ Church Cathedral (Christchurch).
With strong academic results, you’ll be a stickler for detail, able to manage your time well and step up to deadlines. It’s vital that you fit in well with our team, so you’ll need to impress us with your communication skills and appetite to learn. Although not a requirement, an added bonus would be having a particular interest in technology development or being skilled in computer programming. The world is changing at a fast rate, and we want to keep up with it!
We’ll provide you a great place to work as part of a fun and supportive team, with excellent learning and career progression—and a chance to work on some of the country’s most exciting projects. To find out more about a career in drafting at Holmes, visit https://holmesanz.com/graduate-drafters/
