Graduate Electrical/Electronic Engineer
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Product Engineering Team based in Dundee. This is a multi-discipline team developing and supporting the production of ATM’s (Automated Teller Machine). Each ATM combines a range of financial Self-Service modules that are packaged to deliver complex transactions in a wide variety of environments.
We are seeking a Graduate Electrical/Electronic Engineer who will develop the electrical system within the ATM. The successful candidate will get a chance to work on a wide range of modules including PC Cores, Card-readers and complex media handling devices. A key differentiator of the NCR ATM is its world leading availability combined with its global accessibility awareness, ease-of-use, servicing strategy and its award winning visual appeal.
£29,500 base salary + benefits

The successful candidate will be a highly focussed, self-motivated individual able to demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills, thrive in a team based environment whilst being able to work in isolation with low levels of supervision, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills. The following mix of skills and experience will be required/preferred:

  • Harness design – have good knowledge of the design and development of a product cabling solution. Key areas include component selection, modern assembly techniques, CAD based routing and racking solutions.
  • Good understanding of analogue and digital electronics
  • Experience in PCB development and test, including schematic entry.
  • Be prepared to work closely with the following disciplines; Mechanical, software, firmware, Industrial design, usability, product management.
  • Experience in the following industries would be considered relevant;

Automotive, Avionics, Military, White goods, Motion control, Modern production environment. ATM design.

  • Good understanding of International test standards, including safety and EMC.
  • Comfortable with Project Management techniques and an ability to manage time effectively and work within tight deadlines.
  • Experience with using Cadence, Creo and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Awareness of sustainable design and/or working in projects linked to new concepts, innovation or proof of concept.

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:

  • Develop ATM system interconnect diagrams.
  • Design harness solutions, prepare harness drawings and work closely with development vendors.
  • Prototype parts and support build phase.
  • Support test phases (test & debug).
  • Support for planning and project reporting.
  • Prepare documentation, procurement specifications, Functional specifications, test reports.
  • Attend design reviews.
