The MIS Graduate Software Engineer assists senior engineers to evaluate user and process requirements and to develop functional design specifications, code, debug and tests software applications, which integrate with production databases and equipment. Responsible for maintaining existing software systems, designing, and implementing new solutions and creating technical documentation.
This role is on a hybrid working basis and will also require some travel to our global locations.

General Responsibilities

  • Key participant in the development of end-user tools for data analysis, reporting and work flow processes with database communication
  • Collaborate on analyzing the existing software and improving the processes
  • Organize the Design and Test Lab departments on requirements of new functionality
  • Key participant in integration of in-house software for our test equipment
  • Taking part in on-site software debugging, machines further adaptation and optimization

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

General Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of MES production applications covering the data pipe integrating shop floor to enterprise application with systems.
  • Follow specifications from Senior Engineers on new functionality required
  • Working on Smart Factory Solutions as part of our Industry 4.0 Strategy
  • Taking part in modifying and optimising existing systems
  • Collaborating with various internal teams and external vendors on software projects
  • Creating basic reporting tools for end users
  • Providing production support for existing systems and processes developed by the MIS team
  • Training end users to use new functions and systems
  • Analysing and interpreting a wide range of different data relating to production outputs
  • Assist in resolving priority incidents to quickly eliminate impacts, participate in root-cause analysis, and support subsequent corrective and preventative actions.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

Essential Criteria:

  • A university degree in a Software Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering Discipline
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organisation, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Ability to rapidly adapt to change and absorb new technologies.
  • Experience of two or more of the following VB6, VB.net, C#.net, ASP, ASP.net, Rest API Creation, Agile, Cyber Security Protocols.
  • Experience and understanding of SQL Database Query Creation

Desirable Criteria:

  • Machine integration and data collection
  • Experience in data optimization and report creation
  • Experience working with IOT
  • Experience and understanding of SQL Database Migration, Restoration and Maintenance
  • Experience with data transformation and TL (Extract Transform Load) processed.
