About the role…
We are looking for a Graduate Project Manager with an interest in the water industry to work with our project teams to help deliver a growing workload for our client, Severn Trent Water, based out of our Derby office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within an exciting and growing team on a variety of projects covering either water or wastewater networks and facilities. Being a Graduate Project Manager means you will split your time between working in the office, working on allocated sites and working from home. You will collaborate with the team, your Principal Project Manager and the client to ensure successful delivery projects throughout their lifecycles.
This role is a September 2025 start. Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is required.

What a typical day could look like…

  • Learning to monitor and review all delivery and financial performance, identifying any issues and helping to correct these by addressing abnormalities.
  • Helping to manage cost reconciliation and work with our internal commercial and finance team to make sure all aspects of the cost implications are covered.
  • Collaborate with our internal design team to ensure the clients expectations are met.
  • Understand and gain experience on how to create and maintain a programme throughout the pre-construction and ECI (Early contractor involvement) phases of a scheme and hand over to the delivery team for construction.
  • Gain experience in project managing the delivery team throughout the construction process and liaise with the delivery team throughout the life cycle of a project to ensure its successful delivery
  • Complete monthly KPI’s such as health and safety audits and environmental inspections and become accountable for safety and compliance auditing.

About you…
We want our graduates to challenge the status quo, encourage different points of view and drive creativity as well as bring insights from your education and life experiences to the role; you will be empowered to make a difference. You should be agile, resilient and ready to take on real industry challenges.
We would like you to be graduating in 2025 or have graduated in the last 12-24 months and hold at least a 2:2-degree qualification. A degree in project management or a general business degree with project management elements would benefit this role. You will be computer literate, have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team. We would also like you to be organised, self-driven and have good attention to detail with a desire to keep on developing.
What’s in it for you…

We offer a rewarding salary that is tailored to your skills and experience. But that’s not all! We celebrate hard work and give recognition to our colleagues. In addition to this, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all so everyone has access to a variety of flexible benefits that work for you.

  • 24 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Private GP Helpline & Health Cash Plan
  • Avove Discount Scheme
  • Family friendly policies
  • A selection of lifestyle benefit options
  • Financial wellbeing programme
  • Employee assistance program for health and wellbeing and onsite mental health first aiders to support our colleagues
  • We love to give back so we offer you volunteering days in your community and charity matched giving where we will boost your fundraising.
