We solve the world’s most complex problems and deliver what seems impossible, with curiosity and creativity. We’re a thriving and growing organization which offers you many possibilities to shape a better world, and your future.
We collaborate with public and private sector clients to unlock the ground-breaking potential of railways. We offer a broad range of services spanning planning, design, delivery, systems integration, assurance, safety and security assessments, and optimization of railway operation and maintenance performance to unlock the financial value for investors, asset owners, operators and maintainers, while navigating the transition to low carbon and resilient rail. You would be joining our multidisciplinary team focusing on technical excellence and innovative solutions that shape a better future for people and the planet.
The opportunity

- Interpret and coordinate design results into project documentation under the supervision of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) such as Technical Memos, Rail Systems Asset Siting Studies and Reports, or Basis of Design Reports
- Communicate design work through preparation of drawing sketches indicating support types, geometry, integration, construction sequencing, and instrumentation.
- Apply structural, drainage, and soil mechanics skills to assess likely failure modes and develop ground support schemes
- Undertake linear and non-linear structural analysis of ballasted or slab track based on Code requirements using first principles
- Carry out empirical, analytical, and numerical analyses for purposes of coordinating track and systems provisions in the tunnel and shaft design
- Make use of automation and established workflows to follow best practice. Develop workflows and ideas for automation where none exist
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for graduates who are curious and ready to evolve how you think and work. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive.
