ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to further expansion of our company, we are seeking to recruit a Research Scientist to join our screening department. This role might suit a recently qualified life science graduate, or someone with relevant experience.
The Screening team carries out high-throughput and high-content screening of large numbers of client compounds or compound libraries and is therefore a key stage in the development of novel therapeutic agents. These experiments often involve cell-based assays, so any experience of cell culture or aseptic techniques would be desirable. Working with small volumes using single-channel or multi-channel pipettes, or automated work-stations, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cell culture: Initiating, culturing & supplying various cell lines for screening assays.
  • Screening: Performing routine screening assays within the team.
  • Data analysis: Handling, analysing and interpreting results.
  • Assisting in developing and optimising new assays for future projects.
  • Supporting routine laboratory operations across all departments.
