Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Computer Science or IT Graduates looking to build a career in Software Development within the Financial Services sector.
Fundamental to our early careers strategy, Winterflood’s Graduate Software Engineering programme offers the opportunity to develop coding proficiency in multiple languages, whilst enhancing our proprietary trading systems over a 12-month period.
Initially, our cohort will enter a series of three team rotations across our core business areas for the first 6 months, led and supported by our experienced Senior Engineers. Rotations will be supplemented by Coding boot-camps and shared social events.
At the mid-point, we’ll break for study and examinations in addition to our half-year review, with the remainder of the scheme focusing on strategic work in your assigned Product team, undertaken in agile delivery format.
Successful candidates will then ‘graduate’ from the programme, with both a permanent job offer and CISI qualification in Investment Management Technology.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn software engineering best practices as well as business knowledge in the financial services domain
- Assist our team in the gathering of business requirements, internal designs, and system requirements
- Assist our Lead Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers at all stages of the software development life cycle
- Contribute enthusiastically to the delivery objectives of the product team, including fixing live issues and supporting senior members of the team in delivery of client/business projects
- Regularly review your delivery progress and submit status reports to Lead/Senior Software Engineers
- Actively seek code reviews from senior members of the team to ensure code quality and functionality is correct.
- Complete training and self-improvement to achieve formal qualification & achieve our engineering standards
- Engage with our team, have fun, share ideas and gain practical knowledge and experience
