Dell Technologies Customer Solution team are looking to hire a software engineer to join our expanding Demo Center team in Limerick, Ireland. The Demo Center provides hands-on labs and interactive demos to over 30K sales engineers and partners - forming a crucial part of Dell Sales enablement strategy. The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with graduation in 2023 or 2024.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and basic understanding of scripting languages like Python and Bash.
  • DevOps and Cloud Knowledge: Basic understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • System and Network Skills: Experience with base operating system installation/administration and knowledge of TCP/IP/Ethernet, virtualization, storage, and file/block concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communication skills and excellent team working capability.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical and Development Skills: Proficiency in Perl/Python/R scripting, programming, and development skills, along with certification in cloud platforms or DevOps tools.
  • Professional Experience and Project Management: Project management skills and hands-on experience through internships or projects in a DevOps role.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize containers and Kubernetesfor application deployment and orchestration, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with development teams to streamline application deployment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and infrastructure issues, automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviewsand contribute to the improvement of coding standards, while delivering assigned project activities on schedule to support team goals.
  • Contribute to the management and inventory controlof the Customer Solution Center, ensuring effective resource utilization.
