JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background in structural engineering, familiarity with South African structural engineering standards, and experience in performing wind analysis. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Bachelor of Technology (BTech / BEngTech) in Structural Engineering, or National Diploma (NDip) in Civil Engineering with high academic marks.
  • Knowledge of South African structural engineering standards (SANS).
  • Understanding of wind analysis principles and methodologies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Prokon, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage time effectively.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or exposure to structural engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with additional South African standards (e.g., SANS 10160, SANS 10162).
  • Knowledge of other structural analysis software tools.
  • Strategic business mindset focused on sustaining and advancing the operations of the engineering department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of structural projects, ensuring compliance with South African structural engineering standards (SANS).
  • Conduct wind load analysis and other relevant calculations to determine the impact on structures.
  • Prepare detailed structural engineering reports, drawings, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, sales engineers, and other team members on various projects.
  • Participate in site inspections and assessments to gather data and support project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions and optimization of structures.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and designs.
