Description:

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FACILITIES COUNCIL

Salary: £33,380 per annum. Successful candidates also receive a £1,000 welcome bonus.
Hours: Full time

Location: Royal Observatory Edinburgh, Blackford Hill, Edinburgh, EH9 3HJ

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a graduate, you will work in a multi-disciplinary, often international, team and can develop your skills in a variety of areas. You will likely work on several projects at different stages in the project lifecycle from design and development, through integration, testing and verification to commissioning on-site. Some level of travel both domestically and internationally is to be expected.

SUMMARY OF KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out functional analyses of systems
  • Capture and manage requirements
  • Identify and define interfaces
  • Develop technical budgets
  • Carry out engineering analyses
  • Design and develop system architectures for complex scientific instruments
  • Define and plan tests
  • Carry out verification activities
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive documentation and reports
