Job Title Graduate Naval Ships Trials & Commissioning Engineer

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site up to 5 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
During your Trials and Commissioning Graduate program you will be given visibility of a range of disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated with your role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the development of strategies to ensure that systems are successfully tested and commissioned so that they fully satisfy the customer and business needs/requirements.
- Capturing and analysing requirements in order to understand the customer/business needs and the context in which the system will be used.
- Carry out fault diagnoses into operational defects.
- Develop defect rectification solutions.
- Supplying engineering advice and support to Operations, OEM’s and other functions.
- Understanding the emergent properties of a system to support trade-offs, optimisation, risk reduction and testing.
- Supporting the identification of safety hazards and the assessment and mitigation of safety risk.
- Conduct all activities in a professional manner delivering engineering tasks to agreed time, cost and quality to meet project milestones.
