Grant Accountant

We are on the lookout for a Grant Accountant to join our team. This role is located in Los Angeles, California and is a crucial part of our operations. The Grant Accountant will take charge of managing and monitoring grant funds, ensuring adherence to regulations, and interacting with various internal departments and external grantors. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

• Oversee the management and monitoring of grant funds to ensure strict compliance with regulations.
• Prepare, review, and submit financial reports to grantors in a timely manner.
• Develop and manage budgets for grant proposals.
• Monitor grant expenses regularly to ensure they align with budget stipulations.
• Carry out reconciliation of grant-related accounts as required.
• Analyze grant data and prepare financial statements, providing clear and concise financial information.
• Liaise with internal departments and external grantors, maintaining good relationships and clear communication.
• Uphold compliance with all grant regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in financial audits related to grant funds, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
• Stay informed about changes in grant regulations, applying this knowledge to daily work.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Grant Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in Abila MIP is required
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is necessary
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a plus
• Knowledge of Banner Ads is beneficial
• Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal will be advantageous
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is essential
• Experience in Auditing is required
• Knowledge of Budget Processes is necessary
• Familiarity with Capital Management is beneficial
• Experience in Cash Activity management is crucial
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• CPA certification is desirable but not mandatory
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
