Description:

SUMMARY:

The Grant Funding Manager works closely with the COO to develop and implement strategy for grants to meet short and long-term goals of the affiliate. The Grant Funding Manager will lead the grant application process and continually develop a variety of funding sources to support existing and planned program activities of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of grant writing experience
  • Experience in a non-profit agency preferred
  • Knowledge of grant application process, writing of applications, and various grant programs available to non-profit organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to meet financial goals for grants
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong writing, oral and presentation communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Lead the grant application process by researching and coordinating grant writing for Habitat Greenville.
  • Coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities including corporations, private foundations, and units of government.
  • Conduct interdepartmental meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, coordinate, and research grant preparation assignments. If awarded, conduct similar meeting coordinating grant and reporting requirements and assignments.
  • Write grant and submit applications by consulting with appropriate staff and respond to Requests for Proposal (RFP) as they arise.
  • Coordinate with appropriate Habitat Greenville departments and staff members to collect data needed for grant submissions.
  • Provide timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements, and procedures; collaborate in defining and implementing project funding strategies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and knowledge of the philanthropic marketplace.
  • Monitor compliance with funding standards and restrictions; produce interim and final reports; and report differences in stated measureable goals as required by funding entities.
  • Engage in stewardship activities to build and maintain relationships with current funders.
  • Be the key liaison between Habitat Greenville and outside funding agencies and groups; provide assistance in resolving issues and conflicts; and participate actively in meetings and discussions in which decisions affecting projects are made.
  • Serve as a resource to the CEO, leadership team and other departments of Habitat Greenville on local, state and federal funding programs; provide information, research, analyses, written reports and recommendations as needed.
  • Participate in strategic and operational planning process for the organization
  • Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain Habitat Greenville Compliance status with Habitat International as to keep the agency consistent with all Habitat International standards and expectations.
