SUMMARY:
The grant writer is analytical, organized, collaborative and resourceful. The grant writer will proactively develop strong relationships with the program directors at CCAOSA to ensure authentic and compelling proposals and reports. The grant writer will prospect grant opportunities and lead the drafting and finalization of proposals, letters of interest, and their supplemental materials. Additionally, as part of the Mission Advancement team, the grant writer will support Mission Advancement team activities and provide assistance for fundraising and special events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Social Work, Communications or writing-related field.
- Experience
o Experience in grant writing and/or technical writing and research is preferred or at least 1 year of experience in the nonprofit sector.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Must have clean driving record

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to maintain productivity with minimal supervision.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel requirements for the position includes 45% local and 0% overnight.

Responsibilities:
- Research and identify viable grant opportunities.
- Develop compelling and concise grant proposals, reports, letters of interest and all other materials associated with the applications.
- Engage with program staff across Catholic Charities, Seton Home, and St. PJ’s Children’s Home to better learn the programs and gather critical information to enhance proposals and reports.
- Develop and maintain database of foundations, federal, state and local grants that align with CCAOSA’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals.
- Work closely with Grants Director and the finance staff on grant budgets.
- Manage grant and reporting calendars to delineate timelines for submission, including internal and external deadlines.
- Complete 3-6 grants weekly.
- Submit weekly grant submission reports
- Update grant management software, grant binders, and grant library on a weekly basis.
- Represent Catholic Charities at fairs, workshops, and public events to maintain business relations, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Grants.
