SUMMARY:

The Grants and Resource Development Specialist plays a crucial role in securing funding for the NWESD by managing the development and submission of grant proposals. This position requires exceptional technical writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate with various teams to gather necessary information for proposals. The Grants and Resource Development Specialist will work closely with program managers, finance personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure that grant proposals are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with funder requirements.

PROJECT AND DATA MANAGEMENT

  • Support implementation of NWESD’s comprehensive growth and development plan.
  • Establish and maintain timelines for grant proposal development, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to obtain information and materials for proposal submission.
  • Track the progress of multiple proposals simultaneously and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Support departments as needed in the coordination and planning for new program development including defining funding priorities and assisting with startup implementation.
  • Collect, synthesis, and visualize needs assessment data into table, graph, and narrative form.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant opportunities, applications, and outcomes in a centralized database.
  • Generate reports and analyses to track the organization’s grant-seeking activities and success rates.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent technical writing, editing and proofreading skills and ability to craft persuasive narratives and compelling proposals.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to develop complex program budgets.
  • Ability to access and interpret data into visual and narrative form.
  • Ability to maintain focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of detail-oriented work.
  • Proficient skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to operate grant management software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of grant management and compliance.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, psychology, business, English, communications, or related field. Experience in grant/technical writing, project management, and budget development. Minimum of three years’ successful experience managing deadline driven projects. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required.
    Employment Conditions and Benefits
    8 hours per day, Monday - Friday, 260 days per year
    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Work is performed approximately seventy-five percent (75%) in an office environment and approximately twenty-five percent (25%) traveling to districts and affiliate agencies, as well as for workshops, committee representation, and conferences. Lifts and carries a maximum of forty (40) pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
    Hazards: Potential hazards are present based on the fact that the position requires the incumbent to drive a significant amount. Hazards may include but are not limited to traveling alone, driving in inclement weather conditions, varied road conditions, rush hour traffic, etc.

    $103,625.60 - $116,729.60
