WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

• Conceptualise, design and execute artwork for signage, packaging, digital in-store communications and window graphics, ensuring all communications reflect the brand consistently across the business.
• Support with the translation of verbal ideas into visual concepts.
• Design and develop artwork for campaigns including typographic layouts, colour palettes and graphic devices.
• Develop print collateral for visual merchandising, including decals and in-store signage including print-ready finished artwork.
• Roll-out of tactical campaigns across print and in-store digital.
• Design and develop all branding and visual communications in line with the seasonal brand direction working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer.
• Work collaboratively with the team to progress integrated creative concepts in response to marketing communications briefs.
• Basic re-touching brand and campaign shots when needed.
• Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as creative agencies, internal communications teams as well as the wider marketing team to achieved desired commercial outcomes across the business.
• Keep abreast of technological advancements and trends in print and digital design.

The successful candidate who’ll THRIVE in the role will possess the following skills and experience:

• Experience working in a graphic design role within a retail or agency setting, with working knowledge of how to conceptualise designs and work autonomously from initial stages through to finished artwork
• A considered approach to the creative process ensuring a high standard of design and brand consistency
• Possesses a keen eye for style and emerging trends with a strong understanding of the David Jones aesthetic
• Previous responsibility for all creative work, to ensure all deliverables are executed to a high standard
• A proactive approach to problem-solving capabilities through creativity
• High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Strong typography skills
• Ability to focus on and identify continuous process improvement opportunities
• Basic digital animation skills
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skill
