A position has become available in the Marketing Department at the Century City Office, Cape Town for a Graphic Designer. We are looking for a highly creative and technically skilled individual with a deep understanding of through the line graphic design and visual communication. The graphic designer supports the creative team lead and the graphic design teams to create new, as well as changing and updating existing brand concepts. The designer creates brand IP and direction to drive comprehensive visual communication campaigns and creative outputs to enhance and customer perception and relevance of our brands in the marketplace. They ensure that brand creative executions are aligned with the group’s brand strategies and identity, with the aim to enhance the customer experience and increase brand visibility. Finished art knowledge and a full understanding of printing and production processes are highly advantageous. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to take work from conception/ideation to finished pre-press and digital states. The successful candidate will further provide a supportive role and work closely with the creative and brand teams to produce work across all brand requirements. The Graphic designer will report to the Graphic Design Manager/ Creative Team Lead.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graphic Design Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in graphic design/marketing/advertising/retail print industry.
  • Fluency in up-to-date graphic design practices, trends, and software, specifically Adobe Creative Cloud (CC): Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, After Effect etc.
  • Fluent in print production and finished art, including knowledge and ability to provide solutions within the constraints of print.
  • Web/Digital/Animation knowledge advantageous.
  • AI Prompting and understanding of AI generative tools and software.
  • Understanding of, and experience in, corporate identity management and branding, layout, colour theory and typography.

Responsibilities:

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, create, and develop graphic concepts to produce creative solutions that meet the client’s requirements as specified in the brief.
  • Prepare digital files suitable for proofing and printing, check preliminary and final proofs for errors and make necessary corrections.
  • Edit graphics and photos using editing software (CC).
  • Create/convert various types of files for printing or for other media using CC computer
  • Follow templates and brand specifications to ensure consistent delivery of the brand identities.
  • Ensure that all material is appropriately archived and is easily retrievable.
  • Implement projects from concept through to completion by planning effectively.
  • Ensure a quality product that achieves the desired message as well as meeting all the technical specifications is delivered.
  • Be able to work across print and digital platforms
  • Stay up to date with software and tools to continuously improve the quality of outputs.
