Description:
GRAPHIC DESIGNER - TEMPORARY CONTRACT
This contract requires a commitment of 4 days per week, with a maximum of 32hrs/per week
GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. The company uses its own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions.
We are seeking a Graphic Designer for a 10 month contract until August 2025, who will be responsible for creating visually engaging and innovative content that communicates the company’s mission and product offerings within the greenhouse gas monitoring industry. The Graphic Designer will collaborate with marketing, product teams, and external partners to craft compelling visual assets, leveraging data insights to enhance storytelling and content visualization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, art, web design, or advertising
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of digital graphic/visual design experience, preferably in a creative digital agency setting working on digital products
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Canva, etc.)
- Experience in creating data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design and design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and composition.
- Experience with 3D modeling software and motion graphics is advantageous.
- Ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the space, satellite, and data analytics industries or experience designing for technical sectors is preferred.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative designs, including data visualization.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A portfolio is a required with examples of graphic design, motion design, and iconography assets

Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Create high-quality graphics for a variety of platforms, including digital ads, websites, social media, infographics, presentations, and print materials.
- Data Visualization: Design clear, accurate, and engaging visualizations for data analytics, satellite telemetry, and other technical datasets, transforming complex information into intuitive graphics.
- Branding: Ensure that all design work aligns with the company’s brand guidelines and enhances the company’s visual identity in the space and data analytics sector.
- Product Marketing: Design product visuals, infographics, and technical illustrations that simplify and explain satellite technology and data analytics to a broader audience.
- Collateral Design: Develop visual content for presentations, brochures, whitepapers, and other marketing collateral, integrating data-driven insights where necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, engineering, and data scientists, to understand project goals and create designs that communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Innovation: Stay updated on design trends, particularly in the tech, aerospace, and data analytics sectors, and apply them to create fresh and engaging visuals.
- User Interface (UI) Design: Collaborate on the visual design of user interfaces for internal tools, customer-facing applications, and data dashboards as required.
- Video and Animation: Create or assist in the production of motion graphics, animations, and video content to highlight product capabilities, data insights, and brand messaging.
- Ad-hoc Design Requests: Support internal departments with any ad-hoc design requirements that enhance communication and presentation of information.
