Description:
Primary Areas of Responsibility of Greenhouse Production Supervisor
The right candidate for this position has strong experience in production execution and has had prior greenhouse production and managerial experience. Your strong planning, communication, delegation and people skills will be required as you execute the plan prepared for each week, month and season.
Overview: Our 4-acre greenhouse range produces year-round and seasonal ornamental crops in annuals, tropical, succulent and flowering plants. From propagation to finished product, the production supervisor will execute a wide range of tasks by managing the production team and equipment provided to produce a high-quality product for weekly shipping targets.
Overview of responsibilities:
- Planning and scheduling: Oversees the greenhouse’s activities, such as, work preparation, planting / transplanting, movement of crops, and order processing.
- Supervising workers: Leads, trains, and supervises greenhouse workers to ensure tasks are done safely, efficiently, and well.
- Managing equipment: Manages greenhouse equipment and ‘makes ready’ for all planting and production movement processes.
- Develops improvements in production techniques: Determine, develops and improves production processes that increase quality, yield and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance: Ensures that the greenhouse operates in compliance with environmental regulations, WorkSafe and GCP programs.
- Maintaining records: Maintains records of material inventories, planted crop inventories and shrink/ losses.
- Additional tasks as required: Our team members may be required to work additional tasks outside the scope of the job from time to time.
