Description:
Summary: Industrial Maintenance and repairs, able to maintain, diagnose and repair industrial maintenance issues relating to hydraullis, electrical, welding, pipe fitting, machine installation, refrigeration, lights, plumbing, truck wash systems, racking, PM maintenance, and heating & air conditioning and all other equipment assigned to them. Also responsible for guiding and developing associates in the Building Maintenance Mechanic I, II, III and Helper positions.
Ensure all maintenance work is done as assigned by reviewing and following up on work. Help identify potential problems and plan resolutions. Help to maintain and monitor FM Global records, PM records, Fire systems and underground tanks. Ensure all building maintenance duties are performed in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not restricted to;
- Directs associates engaged in painting, performing structural repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Requisitions replacement parts, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Studies production schedules and estimates work hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records. Confers with supervisor to coordinate daily activities.
- Performs activities of associates supervised.
- Follow supervisor’s directions regarding additional job responsibilities.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation; listens to their sounds for proper operation or to locate any causes of trouble.
- Properly service or perform preventative maintenance on the equipment or machines based on manufacture requirements or guidelines. Lubricates and cleans parts. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operate industrial equipment and tools to make and repair equipment and install parts.
- Maintain the appropriate service and repair documentation required by law and company policy for the refrigeration system.
- Lighting, plumbing, heating & air conditioning and all other equipment and PM Maintenance assigned to them.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- General warehouse maintenance duties, rack repair, dock and door repair, building repair, banana rooms, lights, battery chargers and other items in the building that might arise.
- Ensures that all personnel are properly certified and trained for their positions.
- Identify potential problems and plan resolutions.
- Maintain and monitor FM Global records, PM records, Fire Systems, Fire Inspections, Underground Tanks, all rolling warehouse equipment and work orders for building repairs.
- Monitor programs to ensure the proper control of hazardous chemicals. Maintain disaster recovery/emergency preparedness plan.
- Assist with the management of outside contractors and vendors.
- Control all costs/invoices associated with building maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment. Participates in the ongoing safety programs and safety related training for mechanics.
- Maintain and manage shop inventories with a monthly reconciliation.
- Ensure that all established programs for the distribution center for all buildings and equipment maintenance are followed.
- Establishes preventive maintenance procedures to ensure the timely repair of recurring maintenance tasks, i.e., gas heaters, outside lights, refrigeration systems, battery chargers, water heaters, HVAC units, etc.

Education/Experience:
Four year college, Technical or vocational school, or university program certificate; or a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:

Certificates and Licenses:
Refrigeration certifications is required, Drivers license, and Industrial equipment certifications
