Description:
The post holder will be responsible for the development and management of crisis health and social care resources within the Borough, to ensure that a responsive and flexible service is provided to patients and their carers.
This will focus on the safe and therapeutic management of people in mental health crisis, ensuring that the borough crisis teams work collaboratively together and with inpatient and community mental health services to provide the most effective treatment outcomes.
The postholder will ensure that the crisis teams also work constructively with partner agencies, including acute Trusts, primary care, the local authority, emergency services and the third sector, to provide a seamless response to people in crisis transitioning between services. This will take into account the inter-agency expectations within the Crisis Concordat 2014 and local protocols associated with this.
The postholder will ensure effective human resource, performance, and budgetary management of the team. The postholder will maintain high standards of professional integrity and respect for others in all dealings with service users, carers, colleagues, other professionals, and members of the public.
Overall management accountability for the Borough crisis teams (Greenwich Home Treatment Team, Psychiatric Liaison Team and Mental Health Assessment Area in ED).
Ensure that each team operates effectively on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the service is delivered within agreed structures and in accordance with the operational policies.
Ensure the crisis teams work closely and effectively together, with inpatient wards, community mental health teams and other partner agencies to provide the optimal pathway for service users and their carers in crisis in accordance with principles and protocols related to the Crisis Concordat and other relevant national standards.
Engage in and embed the Quality Standards and Priorities in line with the Directorate Governance structure
Represent Oxleas at multi-agency meetings in relation to crisis services delivery as required to ensure the best possible collaborative working
Co–ordinate and develop the clinical practice and culture of the team, in conjunction with the team managers, taking into account best practice and new initiatives.
Provide effective line management support to the crisis team managers.
Provide clear and consistent leadership to the workforce of the service and oversee the recruitment, supervision, and appraisals process for the service.
Ensure effective financial management of the teams in accordance with trust procedures.
