JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role, you will join a high-performing Grid Delivery team, responsible for the safe and high-quality construction of grid connection assets for Elgin’s solar + storage project pipeline in the UK & Ireland.
This is a newly created opportunity within Elgin as the organization continues to grow its capability in the design and construction of high voltage grid connection assets. You will support the delivery of Elgin’s project pipeline to energisation by working as part of a team of experts in managing project delivery workstreams throughout the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
To excel in this role, knowledge of relevant Construction and Health & Safety standards and regulations in Ireland and/or the UK is required, along with strong technical expertise in electricity networks and grid connection methodologies.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with subcontractors, design teams, suppliers, network operators, and owner’s engineers, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project delivery lifecycle.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance and control processes to ensure all construction work meets or exceeds the technical specifications, industry standards and best practice safety processes.
- Coordinate and evaluate compliance with grid code requirements and technical standards for high voltage equipment standards.
- Analyse and reporting test results related to grid primary and secondary equipment.
- Review design documents to effectively support projects and mitigate technical risks at all stages of project delivery.
- Proactively identify and address technical issues, taking preventive measures, and managing deviations from project schedule, budget, or scope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders including system operators, design teams, construction management teams and construction contractors to manage the design and delivery process, with a focus on providing technical grid connection designs and installation.
- Conducting site visits and supporting project delivery teams to mitigate challenges from installation through to commissioning and compliance testing.
