Responsibilities:

As a Group Accountant, your main duties include:

  • Assist with the monthly group consolidation, ensuring all consolidation journals are accurately posted.
  • Contribute to the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, cash flow, working capital, and investment reporting, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Provide insights and financial analysis on performance, including budget variances, prior year comparisons, KPI trends, and regional ratio analysis.
  • Offer support and constructive feedback to local operational finance teams.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes for the group consolidation.
  • Assist local operational finance teams with financial planning and analysis.
  • Support the external audit process for group holding companies and consolidation.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated statutory financial statements for the group and statutory accounts for other group companies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Group Tax function to gather data for tax computations across the group.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller in implementing and monitoring robust accounting policies and procedures in line with UK GAAP.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, investigate financial control risks, and share best practices across companies.
  • Conduct detailed financial investigations at the request of senior finance management and support local finance teams.
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller in establishing a strong financial control environment and effective corporate governance.
  • Provide support on finance-related projects for the Group Financial Controller, including planning, reporting, control, systems, new business acquisitions, and corporate restructures.
