Job Description
This position is responsible for the overall governance and reporting across the credit function including maintaining Credit Risk Policy/Frameworks. The position plays a key risk role providing business analytics, process automations and overall credit reporting for the Group. This role also provides credit analysis support for Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) business including managing credit risk, establishing credit limits, negotiating, monitoring and controlling security, approving over-credit-limit orders, and coordinating credit submissions for E&I business tenders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce or business related (CPA/CA preferred)
  • Previous credit experience (minimum 5 years) in large corporate or financial institution
  • Have acquired knowledge on tax, GST, securities, company accounting standards, court / legal process, collection process, receivership, administration, liquidation, bankruptcy, commercial credit regulation and law, privacy act
  • Business information systems / credit management and integration project experience (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to analyse financial information and assess credit worthiness and manage credit risk across the portfolio
  • Proficient in large ERP system (JDE/SAP), Microsoft packages and one or more Credit Control Systems (i.e. Equifax), Power BI (preferred)
  • Proven liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to represent the Company with sensitivity in customer contact situations
  • Ability to ensure that problems are efficiently and effectively resolved working closely with the Accenture Revenue team to the satisfaction of the customer and in accordance with Company Delegation of Authorities
  • Strong analytical/automation and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Strong sense of urgency, proactive and assertive
  • Ability / flexibility to deal with continuous change and effectively manage competing multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills

Accountabilities

  • Maintain a commercial outlook whilst minimising risk to an acceptable level
  • Operating credit committee meetings, sub-process meetings (credit assessment and collections)
  • Ensure all actions taken comply with the Companies Credit Management Policy and the Delegation of Authorities
  • Coach and assist in development of Assistant Analysts in credit risk learning

Responsibilities:

Credit Risk Policies & Frameworks

  • Develop, maintain and provide guidance on credit risk policies, procedures, and frameworks in alignment with industry best practices
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing risk management frameworks and recommend improvements as necessary
  • Promote a strong risk culture by fostering awareness and understanding of credit risk management principles

Credit Risk Assessments & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular credit reviews and assessments, monitor credit exposures, including recommending/negotiating risk minimisation strategies
  • Attend external/virtual customer meetings and act as the Credit business partner for E&I portfolio
  • Authorise as per Delegation of Authorities, when to take action such as stop credit / restructures or involve a third party
  • Liaise with Senior Credit Analyst to diarise the over credit exposure across the group
  • Continuous monitoring of the external environment impacting the credit risk landscape (i.e. stock exchange alerts through Refinitiv)

Reporting and Analytics

  • Credit Master Data review & maintenance (JDE & Power BI) by working alongside various teams
  • Assist/Support/Lead various automation projects including JDE credit process improvement , cyber security related to confidential credit data transmission and streamlining internal credit risk assessment template
  • Support the credit limit increase and credit bureau alerts automation for the Shell Card portfolio with the Consumer & Mobility (C&M) division
  • Liaise with the extended credit group for timely submission of the Board papers for credit limit approvals
  • Management of internal and external audit information

Credit Offshore Function

  • Oversee an offshore credit team for day to day functioning of the offshore credit work responsibilities
  • Closely manage the SLA or work assignments status including periodic credit reviews

Credit insurance

  • Partner with external Credit Insurance Brokers and Underwriters
  • Manage renewal of Credit Insurance Policy, yearly basis, to secure competitive pricing and policy terms
  • Submit quarterly customer limit files and individual customers credit limit for insurer, responding to queries

Credit Bureaus

  • Maintain a collaborative partnership with various Credit Bureau and assist in yearly renewal of the agreements including on boarding latest/relevant credit risk mitigation products/services
