We are currently recruiting for a Group & Events Sales Executive to work within the Sales & Events team here at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, Edinburgh.
Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is one of Scotland’s leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities of any hotel in Edinburgh with a capacity of up to 500; our One Square Restaurant and bar and the award winning ONE SPA.
Working within the Sales team, this position has responsibility for responding to all Group and Event enquiries in order to maximize revenue & utilization of meeting space, working to ensure, at a minimum, delivery of budgeted revenues. The Group and Event Sales Executive will manage and convert all business, including contracting, prior to hand over to Event Planning team, although exposure to planning will be part of the role, in addition to managing group room and function diary inventory. The Group and Event Sales Executive must demonstrate high energy levels & provide consistently high levels of customer service, in accordance with Sheraton European Standards & Programmes.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the standard template of responses is used and that enquiry handling follows the EAME Divisional Group/Event Enquiry handling guidelines including BDRC.
  • Ensure correct application of enquiry form procedure. Timeline for response back to client is defined by client expectations, which will vary for each request and must be confirmed with client at time of enquiry. (Standard response time is within 24 hours of receiving enquiry)
  • Identify operational limitations and sell only what we advertise and can effectively manage operationally
  • Traces to be set for every enquiry after a maximum of 24 hours & ensure trace report is completed on a daily basis.
  • Compile Contracts for all Group and Events associated business for authorised Hotel signatory
  • Ensure that a copy of the proposal, contract and Group analysis are attached to the Business Block for future reference.
  • Work closely with the Marriott Global Sales team to action enquiries and convert business
  • Actively use MI Leads as a means of referral, achieving agreed targets & work to exceed pre set targets
  • Actively use Marriott Rewarding Events as appropriate & acquire full knowledgeable understanding of the program
  • Actively sell the benefits of ResLink Direct to all clients in order to meet specific on line revenues
  • You will also be exposed to the planning of events once the business is contracted
