As a Group Financial Controller, you will join our Group Finance team, consisting of 10 members, at our head office in Rotterdam.
In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Group Financial Controller. Our team is in charge of a range of financial activities, including consolidation, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, cash management, KPI monitoring, and post-merger integration. This diverse array of responsibilities provides a stimulating and challenging environment, reflecting in the daily tasks of the position. Due to our company’s rapid growth, our department is currently undergoing several changes, including process improvements and new software implementations.
We are looking for a motivated Group Financial Controller who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for advancing the company by enhancing processes and delivering accurate and reliable financial data. As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft Dynamics Business Central throughout the Group, as well as collaborating closely with the rest of the team to oversee monthly and annual consolidations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a multinational company or a Big 4 firm
  • A master’s degree in accounting, economics, finance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and experience in financial accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, MS Office, and consolidation tools
  • Accurate, curious and committed
  • Strong problem solving skills and hands-on mentality
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with various stakeholders
  • Adaptable to working in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities:

As a Group Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Group Financial Control team and the Finance Directors and Controllers across various countries. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership of the monthly consolidation process and address queries from various countries
  • Assist with financial planning cycles, ensuring submissions comply with guidelines, and manage outputs while also seeking to enhance efficiency
  • Assist in financial control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Maintain master data in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, including the chart of accounts, vendors, and clients, and serving as the primary contact for end users
  • Administration of LucaNet consolidation system and overseeing its use across the organization
  • Implement improvements in LucaNet, including consolidation and interfaces with local systems
  • Create and update accounting policies and procedures
  • Actively pursue standardization and automation of financial close processes and applying best practices
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of monthly closings
