GROUP HEAD CHEF - COVERING HULL, NOTTINGHAM, DERBY AND SLOUGH

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Group Head Chef. You will need to continually enhance the food offer, meet KPI targets, motivate and develop the culinary team within this prestigious contract.

More about the role:

  • Uphold, maintain and where possible exceed the high standards of food production within the contract, complying with Company standards, in conjunction with the Unit Head Chefs.
  • Enforce company Health, Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations throughout the contract
  • To oversee and authorise all plans for preparation and costing of all functions held within all messes.
  • To lead, support and/or take part in all additional activities to promote ESS services and to assist in generating ideas to do so – both internal and external to the contract.
  • Ensure that Central Compass food development procedures are rolled out effectively across the unit.
  • To maintain stock levels in all messes and ensure stock rotation is taking place.
  • Implement and maintain wastage control within all kitchens
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment and machinery is in working order and all repairs are reported and monitored
  • Apply nutritional knowledge and ensure that a nutritional balance of meals are produced
  • To act as Line Manager for all Head Chefs on site.
  • Conduct regular training according to the requirements of the business and updates in legislation
  • Conduct annual appraisals and create development plans for team

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in a role as Head Chef being able to demonstrate a track record of catering for large numbers but at the same time making the customer feel that their meal has been individually prepared for them.
  • Have a ‘big personality’ .Great people skills and be able to lead, develop, train and inspire a large team.
  • Have a real passion for food and customer service along with bags of enthusiasm.
  • Food Innovation and development is essential along with being up to date with current food trends
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Superb culinary skills
  • Good financial understanding
  • High standards and be quality driven
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A ‘Can do’ attitude
