Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Group Manager Distribution, you’ll be at the helm of our dynamic multi-site warehousing and distribution operations, ensuring seamless storage, handling, and distribution of products to our customers.
Your mission is to ensure our distribution strategies and processes support our strategic priorities, driving continuous improvement, enhancing inventory accuracy, delivering speed through our warehouses and ensure reliable order fulfilment. You’ll be the guiding force for your team, providing coaching and support to help them excel. Additionally, you’ll champion a safe and healthy work environment by setting and upholding the highest WHS standards and procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Developing and executing optimal distribution strategies in support of WWG’s business strategy.
- Managing and overseeing a Trans-Tasman distribution network.
- Developing and implementing warehousing strategies to optimize layout, storage capacity, speed through our warehouses and operations across our distribution network (DCs) in NZ, Welshpool, and Melbourne Airport and 3PL provider in Queensland..
- Setting and driving warehousing targets, such as percentage of slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB), to improve efficiency.
- Tracking and managing group inventory levels to ensure accurate stock counts and timely fulfillment of customer orders and forecasts.
- Implementing efficient storage systems to maximize space utilization in distribution centers.
- Identifying and driving process improvements to enhance warehousing efficiency and productivity.
- Researching and adopting best practices and technologies to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Training, supporting, and managing the performance of team members to ensure high levels of productivity and engagement.
- Ensuring all warehouses comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Developing and implementing risk management strategies for distribution operations.
- Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution operations.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
