JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Group Payroll Manager who will manage a team of 4 (3 Payroll Administrators & 1 Assistant Payroll Manager) setting and reviewing KPI’s and ensuring SLA’s are adhered too. The right candidate will provide expertise guidance, support to the payroll team and wider group, including developing best practice, policies, and procedures.
The Payroll Manager will ensure that the payroll departments run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately and that up to 2,500 employees across hotels, restaurants and care homes are paid accurately and on time.
Also, a strong applicant will maintain compliance with all company and regulatory requirements in relation to employee pay and benefits and build strong and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated the ability to effectively juggle the responsibilities linked with managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Build relationships with the stakeholders involved in the project - helping to take them on the journey - keeping them informed
  • Delivered the projects in line with the set deadlines Responsibilities of the role
  • Investigate and learn current payroll process and identify how this will be impacted by the proposed changes
  • Work closely with strategic leads and create project plans that outline the activity required to deliver the stated projects
  • Run shadow payroll runs in preparation for the launch

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Experience of successfully processing a monthly and weekly/biweekly payroll run for a similar sized organisation
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Close attention to detail when reviewing all pay related data
  • Ability to produce, analyse and summarise pay related data for reporting and ad-hoc requests
  • Strong knowledge on payroll legislation
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively with external suppliers
