Job Description
Your role: Finance role supporting the Head of Finance, across Group FP&A. Group Finance is a key function with oversight of all areas of the business and regular direct liaison with CFO/CEO.
The principal responsibility of the role is to assist in processing and delivering regular P&L performance reporting and analysis, along with budgets and forecasts across the News UK Group portfolio to the CFO and US Head Office, combined with ad hoc analysis to support the business in making decisions.
We offer a flexible working arrangement where employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. For the remaining two days, there is the option to work remotely if desired.
Day to day you will:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of weekly results to the CFO
- The preparation and submission of weekly results to News Corp
- To assist in the logistics of the weekly reporting process and execute systems
changes
- Investigate and solve any variances which arise during the weekly reporting
Process
- Ensuring consolidation, tax and cash flow teams receive numbers at the end of
each reporting cycle in line with the timetable
- Supporting the on-going development of reporting outputs and monthly review
process
- Assist in the completion of US narrative explaining variances
What we’re looking for from you:
- Pro-active individual who indicates via their actions a desire to get the job done
- Experience of coordinating information involving multiple business areas
- Proven organisational skills
- Commercially aware with strong accounting skills
- Strong report writing skills coupled with a high level of IT literacy in excel and
ideally SAP and TM1
- Tenacity and willingness to challenge at all levels
- Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role and realise process efficiency
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and
external stakeholders
