Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE – GROUP SALES MANAGER
Competencies for a Sales Manager should be a fully competent individual with experience in luxury hotel sales. The Sales Manager is responsible for selling to all segments. The position is accountable for proactively soliciting and handling group opportunities with significant revenue guestroom and event F&B revenue potential. In this role the manager works to develop, build and maintain long-term, value-based customer relationships in order to achieve related revenue goals and repeat booking opportunities. According to hotel need, the Sales Manager is assigned a sales territory, which may be vertical or geographical, along with assigned key accounts. An important part of the role is to ensure business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. A key responsibility is to drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience, and to provide high-level service to our customers in order to grow the account.
Sales goals will be determined quarterly with the DOSM and Hyatt RVP based on the hotels budget and forecasted projections. Hyatt PRIDE is the company’s compensation and incentive program that is paid out quarterly with a year-end achievement status based on actualized revenues to goal achievement.
SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Works collaboratively with hotel teams, Hyatt Sales Force, Convention Bureaus and other hotel counterparts to drive revenue and ensure customer satisfaction and increase market share.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers, industry organizations to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows.
- Business travel demands based on budgeted events which may include weekends and evenings
- Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Understands the overall market including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and knows how to sell in a competitive manner.
- Targets accounts, markets or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Develops and implements an effective sales plan.
- Executes designated sales strategies to develop and solicit specific accounts to achieve hotel and individual revenue goals.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Interacts with the operation team to ensure understanding of guest needs and in creating a working relationship within all areas of the operation
