Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Graduate Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service for a full-time permanent position 37.5 hours a week. We are part of the community adult mental heath services.
The Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service (GTS) offers a programme of accessible, safe, evidence-based group treatments using a cognitive behavioural approach, including mindfulness and self-compassion. The successful candidate will work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe patient care focused on therapeutic relationships. Alongside the psycho-educational group programmes, the GTS offers a creative group pathway that provides a safe therapeutic space where service users can develop concentration, challenge social anxiety and practice new coping skills.
This post offers the Trust’s £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
The post holder will be responsible for assessing patients, which includes assessment for suitability for the group treatment programme, and provide individual therapeutic interventions to support the group work. They will facilitate groups, manage a clinical case load including having lead practitioner responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity for a band 5 to develop skills in working within a psychological framework, and facilitating and developing groups. The GTS provides an excellent supervision package to facilitate this learning.
The Brighton and Hove Group Treatment Service is based over two sites- East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre and Mill View Hospital. The post holder will be required to travel across sites.
Candidates need to have an understanding of interventions relevant to the care group to include assessment, psychoeducation, clinical care and interventions, group facilitation, wellness recovery action plans and discharge planning.
At GTS we are a small team who work closely together. We have regular supervisions and participate in reflective practice to work with service users in the secondary services. We support all new staff learning to co-facilitate our group program using a preceptorship model.
As a mental health trust Sussex Partnership places a huge focus on the wellbeing of our staff, as well as ensuring our reward packages reflect the immensely important work they do.
