Description:

GUEST SERVICES ASSOCIATE, CLEVELAND HISTORY CENTER

RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible to the Visitor Services Manager for providing exceptional customer service including guest orientation, front line sales, membership and admission, merchandise promotion, and profitability.
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time; non-exempt from overtime compensation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Previous experience working with the public
  2. Job-related skills include, but are not limited to, interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  3. Essential personality traits include enthusiasm, dependability, flexibility, and integrity.
  4. Candidate will embody WRHS core values – integrity, stewardship, connectivity, innovation, and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet every guest as they enter
  2. Assist with incoming calls and inquiries
  3. Accurately record all transactions on the point-of-sale system
  4. Assist customers with merchandise selections and/or information on exhibits and events
  5. Promote and sell memberships
  6. Keep work area clean and organized
  7. Assist with annual museum store physical inventory
  8. Maintain Core Performance Standards:
    a. Commit to a regular schedule
    b. Follow dress code and other codes of conduct as explained in the WRHS employee handbook
  9. Effectively communicate and assist, as needed, with special events
  10. Stay alert at all times to prevent damage and theft
  11. Support income generation initiatives by identifying and recommending programs and activities based on the strengths of the department that will contribute to the financial success of WRHS.
  12. Other duties as assigned
