Wellington Girls’ College is seeking a qualified counsellor or psychologist who is a member of NZAC or NZPB and ideally a NZ registered teacher, to join our pastoral care team and help ensure excellent guidance and support is provided to our students. The successful applicant will have the ability to build empathy and advocate for our students, be culturally responsive, build trusting relationships with both students and staff, and work effectively with the wider Wellington Wellbeing Network.
Counselling services at WGC is part of a broader wellbeing team working alongside our deans and nurse. It is a friendly, supportive and rewarding environment. Counsellors receive both individual and group professional supervision.
This is a permanent part time role (up to 0.6 FTTE) to start January 2025.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,000 to $103,000 depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
Overseas applicants must hold an IQA suitable for NZ secondary schools and preferably a NZ teachers’ registration
