Summary: Monitors the production operation maintaining a safe workplace and creating a positive culture in the working environment. Responsibilities include building quality into the product and meeting production and customer service commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes.es the workload for the department to meet production commitments. Prepares daily work schedules in alignment with the activities of other manufacturing departments. Assigns daily duties to operators to optimize resources and achieve production objectives.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops department staff to insure process control and efficient operations.
  • Controls issuance of operating supplies to minimize waste and excessive usage.
  • Creates and administers employee performance reviews reflecting achievements and noting areas of improvement for continued development
  • Resolves employee relations issues and submit unsettled grievances to department Manager and Human Resources.
  • Performs regular inspections of the department’s facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with cGMPs, and Safety requirements.
  • Verify batch records and logs of new and reviewed batch records.
  • Assist in maintaining an environment that complies with CFR, cGMP, and SOP’s
  • Initiate Non-Conformance reports
  • Provides leadership to ensure the practices and conditions create a safe working environment Conduct regular training sessions of Safety, GMP’s and SOPs with department staff to ensure COQ1Pliance and awareness. Provide other training as required.
  • Monitors department staff attendance and provide counsel to employees when the number of incidents exceeds company guidelines.
  • Enforces all company policies.
  • Interfaces with support departments to ensure problems are resolved quickly, correctly, and completely.
  • Assists in preparation of departmental operating expense and capital budgets, monitor expenditures and control usage to within budgeted amount
  • Develops and revise Standard Operating Procedures for area of responsibility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to HACCP and Food Safety.

Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills
  • Problem-solving and people skills
  • Ability to set priorities, be flexible, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organization.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with tight timelines and minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of cGMPs and FDA regulations
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

Education/Experience:

  • Requires one to two years of college or its equivalent College degree preferred. Requires five to eight years’ experience in a production environment
  • Requires 5 plus years in supervisory roles.
