GYPSUM WORKER

• Installation of Gypsum Products:
• Measure, cut, and fit gypsum boards (drywall) to walls and ceilings.
• Install gypsum board using screws, nails, or adhesive.
• Ensure proper alignment and secure fitting of gypsum products.
• Finishing Work:
• Apply joint compound to seams, corners, and screw/nail holes for smooth finishes.
• Sand the compound after it dries to create a seamless, smooth surface.
• Apply texture to surfaces as required (e.g., knockdown, orange peel).
• Surface Preparation:
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, priming, or applying base layers of plaster when needed.
• Repair damaged drywall, including patching holes, cracks, and replacing sections of drywall.
• Safety and Cleanliness:
• Follow safety protocols, including wearing protective gear (gloves, goggles, dust masks).
• Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other construction professionals (e.g., electricians, plumbers, painters) to ensure smooth workflow.
• Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding project specifications and timelines.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of gypsum board types, installation techniques, and finishing methods.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, work at heights, and handle manual tasks.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in cutting, fitting, and finishing gypsum products.
• Experience: Experience in drywall installation and finishing or relevant training in construction.
• Safety Awareness: Familiarity with workplace safety standards in construction.
