Job Description
An exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring Building Regulations compliance by overseeing and supporting high standards of design and construction management. You’ll assess and monitor the competence of key Building Regulations duty holders, including BR Principal Designers and BR Principal Contractors, providing valuable performance insights that drive project success and regulatory compliance from start to finish. This role is a chance to make a meaningful impact on innovative projects, contributing to a safer and more reliable built environment.
- Duty Holder Competency Assessment and Performance Monitoring
- Conduct detailed and documented assessments of proposed duty holders (BR Principal Designer, BR Principal Contractor, and other critical personnel) to verify competence.
- Monitor Principal Designer activities to ensure adherence to recognised design management principles which promote Building Regulations design compliance.
- Monitor Principal Contractor activities to ensure adherence to recognized construction and change management principles which ensure Building Regulations construction compliance.
- Corrective Actions and Communication
- For any identified concerns, develop and document possible corrective actions to restore or maintain compliance.
- Provide the Project Manager with a summary of any concerns along with proposed corrective actions with regular updates on the status and effectiveness of those actions.
- Reporting and Liaison
- Compile and deliver regular reports to the Project Manager, detailing duty holder performance, ongoing compliance status, corrective actions, and any remaining risks.
- Maintain open communication with the Project Manager, offering insights into duty holder compliance and overall project alignment with the Building Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional qualifications in architecture, engineering, design and construction management or another related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Building Regulations and duty holder obligations as well as recognised design and construction management principles.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively relaying concerns and addressing corrective actions to the duty holders and the Project Manager.
