We are looking for HACCP Coordinator to join our growing team here at Stampede Culinary Partner Inc. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of experience in food safety and/or food manufacturing.
- HACCP Certification is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Food Processing, or a related discipline is a strong asset.
- Ability to taste samples of meat, vegetables, and seafood products.
- Knowledge of and experience with BRC audits is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience conducting Root Cause Analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills are assets.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), and quality regulatory requirements and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other programs.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work in a cool environment (2-4°C).

Responsibilities:
- Manage the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program, including the maintenance, implementation, and verification of procedures, documents, validations, and processes, as well as reassessments to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Perform NCARs (Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions Reports) and Laboratory Performance Reports for suppliers.
- Recommend corrective actions and preventive measures based on Root Cause Analysis to ensure compliance.
- Assist with temperature validations for raw materials and finished products entering or leaving the production facility, ensuring adherence to all food safety standards.
- Ensure metal detectors, analytical scales, and other food product screening devices are properly calibrated and in good working order.
- Perform random sampling of food products, measuring weight, size, and thickness to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions on food safety and quality requirements for management and associates.
- Prepare for and participate in all internal, third-party, and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) audits.
- Act as a liaison with pest control contractors (e.g., Abell) to ensure appropriate pest control measures are in place within the facility.
- Collect wastewater samples and arrange testing by third-party laboratories.
- Maintain professional interactions with third-party auditors, CFIA, and contractors, and assist CFIA with CVS (Compliance Verification System) tasks.
- Provide coverage for the QA Manager and QA Technicians during absences, including leading the Quality Assurance team in the QA Manager’s absence.
- Collaborate with the Production Team during the creation and testing of new products to ensure they meet customer and food safety standards.
- Maintain the approved supplier list and ensure all raw materials, ingredients, allergens, and other materials used in the facility are properly cataloged.
- Evaluate and taste production samples, including meat, vegetables, meatless proteins, and seafood products.
- Perform monthly building audits and daily storage inspections.
- Organize and lead HACCP team meetings for the Prepared Foods HACCP team.
- Address concerns and issues with appropriate management through clear verbal and written communication.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager.
