Description:

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of six years’ experience in acquisition and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or construction related industries.
  • Ability to manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility, as required.
  • Demonstrated competence in Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), Prince2 or equivalent project management methodology.
  • Skilled in the use of project management software (Organisational Process Performance, Microsoft Project, etc) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated skills in estimating work effort, duration, and value.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and experience communicating with parties within and outside of own work area, as well as parties external to the organisation (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Australian Government (Defence) Security Clearance up to NV -2 - eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva

We are looking for an exceptional Project Manager to lead our Modernisation of Maritime Electronic Warfare Hardware Integrated Product Team.

THE ROLE

As the Hardware IPT Project Manager with Raytheon Australia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of Australia by assisting with the delivery of complex, state-of-the-art programs to modernise Maritime EW Systems for the Royal Australian Navy. Reporting to the Deputy Project Director the experience you bring to this position will see you work proactively with specialist functional teams, key defence stakeholders and a team of highly capable professionals.
The Hardware IPT Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day design, solution development, and management of the Electronic Warfare Operations Co-Ordinator Hardware System team to satisfy contractual or internally scoped requirements.
Focused on achieving the hardware related objectives of the program, the Project Manager will ensure that operational requirements and financial performance is within the contracted statement(s) of work and allocated budgets. The Project Manager will support and develop future business opportunities, including business proposals and plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the design, development, procurement, deployment and support of the hardware configuration items required to deliver the greenfields Electronic Warfare Operations Co-Ordinator program to the ADF
  • Ability to form and maintain close relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and manage resources required to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and management of the Hardware IPT whilst driving the effectiveness and results through implementing strategies and plans.
  • Assess, identify and manage program risk and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and lead project staff and conduct staff performance evaluations.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other internal IPT/CPT managers and team leads to deliver enhanced best for program outcomes.
