JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you interested in hardware integration and cutting-edge defence technologies? Join ALTEN’s team and play a key role in designing, integrating, and validating advanced hardware systems for the UK’s most innovative defence platforms. Collaborate with top-tier engineers and contribute to projects that drive technological advancement in aerospace and defence.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years’ experience in hardware engineering or systems integration within the aerospace or defence sectors.
- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or a background in the UK military with relevant technical experience.
- Strong expertise in hardware electronics, requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), and hardware system integration.
- Experience in creating and reviewing comprehensive technical documentation for large-scale projects.
- Eligibility to work as a sole UK national with the ability to obtain SC clearance.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Knowledge of radar technologies, electronic warfare systems, or environmental and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Familiarity with PCB design or signal processing technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead hardware integration efforts for advanced defence systems, ensuring seamless functionality within complex environments.
- Conduct requirements management and oversee the development of critical systems documentation, including SDD, SSDD, and ICD.
- Perform hardware testing and validation, ensuring compliance with rigorous defence standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during system development and integration phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet the performance, safety, and reliability requirements of defence systems.
- Contribute to the integration of cutting-edge radar and electronic warfare systems.
