In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing innovative chip architectures inspired by open standards, focusing on processors that can be customized and strengthened for use in embedded systems.
  • Creating hardware and firmware solutions tailored for FPGA and microcontroller applications.
  • Designing specialized analog circuits, systems, and techniques that enable unique hardware identifiers, tamper-resistance, and secure authentication.
  • Conducting hardware security assessments involving side-channel and fault testing in a dedicated lab environment.

Essential:

  • Relevant Master’s degree
  • 2+ years hardware/digital design experience
  • 2+ years security engineering experience e.g. vulnerability engineering
  • Deep knowledge of embedded processors
  • Passion for research
  • B2 German and fluent English

Desirable:

  • Experience with chip designing - Tapeout
  • Cryptography
