Description:

You will work as a member of the hardware development team in our Optics R&D Center in Milano/Vimercate. We are currently looking for highly motivated professionals to join our team, who possess a solid understanding of electronic engineering, to shape the future of optical data transmission. As Maintenance Team Leader you will be part of the hardware development team in Vimercate, embedded in a worldwide Optical Research and Development organization.

  • Investigate hardware failures on Nokia Optics products returned from customers.
  • Determine root cause of failures. Establish corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Problem escalation and Quality teams) to gather information on field failures.
  • Work with Nokia Reliability team to deeply analyze root causes. Assist Reliability team to understand field risk of problems.
  • Work with Nokia component suppliers to investigate failures and find root cause, corrective, and preventive actions.
  • Test and qualify second source components on existing products
  • Monitor components modification announced by supplier and assess the impact on existing designs
  • Re-design of existing products due to phase-out of components
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or telecommunications, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Circuit design and/or hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of optical communication products and standard optical test strategies.
  • Wide knowledge of different electronic circuits for telecom applications (power supply, timing, microprocessors, FPGA)
  • Verbal and written proficiency with Italian and English. You are comfortable giving clear, concise updates to management and internal customers. You have an ability to explain complex technical problems to people not as technically adept as you.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple challenges at the same time.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
