We are a proud Western Australian co-operative and as Australia’s largest co-operative we are a leader in the Australian grain industry. We have grown from humble roots into one of the world’s largest and most efficient grain supply chains, delivering millions of tonnes of quality Western Australian grain into the hands of customers around the world each year.
Our storage and handling system currently receives and exports around 90 per cent of the Western Australian grain harvest and is regarded as one of the best in the world. We in-load via our own in-house design screw conveyor pits, bucket elevators, ground conveyors, trippers, and stackers into multiple storage types. We strive to continually improve our equipment from site feedback, and we have a strong pipeline of work that focuses on out-loading with multiple new rail loading facilities and expansions of our existing receival sites. Our core purpose is to sustainably create and return value to current and future West Australian grain growers.

THE ROLE

CBH Group have exciting harvest casual opportunities to join the Laboratory team.

Located in Forrestfield, the Australian Grains Centre team is inviting applications for the following casual positions to assist during our peak period.

• Grain Technicians (Physical Lab)
• Laboratory Grain Technicians (Reference Lab)

These casual positions will commence from November but there may be opportunities available earlier.
Responsibilities include:

Laboratory Grain Technicians (Reference Lab) will also be responsible for:

• Sample preparation for LCMS based chemical residue analysis
• Carrying out other quality tests as required such as gluten analysis, oil content analysis, LECO protein analysis and GM strip testing
• Recording and reporting certain quality result

The following skills are desirable in both roles:

• Previous experience in grain sampling / laboratory analysis work
• Previous experience within a NATA accredited lab
• Forklift licence
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• LCMS experience
• CBH Sampling certificat
