THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for tertiary qualified Aerospace/Mechanical/Structural Engineers. If you are looking to join an exciting and dynamic team that provides sustainment engineering support to the EC-135 Helicopter fleet to achieve the mission of training pilots, aircrew and aviation warfare officers for the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army, we have a full time employment opportunity available.
The role is based in Nowra.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
As an experienced and degree qualified Mechanical/Structural Engineer in the HATS Continuing Airworthiness team, you will bring a few years of engineering experience post-graduation, and have a desire to expand on your engineering knowledge. Our Mechanical/structures Engineers will have a plan to progress their engineering career with on the job training as well as mentoring from Senior Engineers. The successful applicant will be able to broaden their engineering skills onto and into the Rotary wing platform.
Having had experience working within appropriate regulatory environments (CASA/DASA/FAA’s etc) you will provide innovative ideas for continuous improvement initiatives to help maintain and support the development and execution of our contract requirements and any variations. Previous engineering authority, particularly in the Technical Services (Part M) environment will be highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Work with customers to develop and document system requirements;
- Review, analyse and implement OEM and Regulator instructions for implementation on the EC-135 fleet;
- Provide Engineering support for structures and mechanical systems over the product lifecycle;
- Maintaining weight and balance records for the EC-135 fleet, as well as participating in development of the airframe and propulsion structural integrity programs;
- Conducting technical analysis, flight safety reviews, investigations and develop modifications and repairs related to aircraft structural, mechanical and propulsion systems;
- Generating and maintaining solutions to ensure our fleets’ airworthiness in the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment; and
- Working in a collaborative team environment.
