As a Manager, Content Business Development you will maintain, establish, and expand business relationships with a wide variety of North America-based content, media, and entertainment companies to integrate and distribute their services on our products. To be successful in this role, you will negotiate multiyear partnerships for distribution on our Smart TVs. Which include our advertising video on demand service “LG Channels”, our app store called “LG Smart World”, and our “ThinQ” artificial intelligence platform. As a key member of a high performing team, you will be able to influence content related innovations to integrate into our webOS Smart TV operating system.

  • Negotiate, draft business terms to an app distribution agreement with major entertainment companies. Coordinating launch of the premium applications on LG devices. Negotiating and coordinating advertising inventory from Advertising based content for integration into LG Channels.
  • Subscription revenue share agreement with major SVOD partners. Launching Dolby Vision support with key partners.
  • Quarterly revenue reporting to executives. Quarterly review with major partners to drive revenue models.
  • Launching of US based applications on LG Smart TVs globally.
  • Coordinated and implemented with TV R&D to develop direct Free Advertising-based Streaming TV (FAST) partnerships into LG Channels to increase advertising inventory for our Ad sales group to monetize
  • Integrating new interactive components with major partners into the webOS operating system
  • Launched Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support with apps on LG Smart TVs.
  • Negotiating business terms for transactional video on demand distribution on LG Smart TVs
  • Establishing a new business term for advertising inventory ownership for LG to sell direct.
  • Partner face to face meeting at their offices to negotiate new contract terms. Attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
  • Develop a term sheet for subscription video on demand recurring revenue share. Discussed privacy and implementation requirements on partners receiving LG smart TV data.
  • Coordinate contracts with HQ legal and HQ Content Team. Monitor TV R&D activities in relation to requirements from the partner on distribution - i.e. metadata integration requirements on Smart TVs.
  • Lead discussions on business, marketing, and technical with partners during their quarterly business review.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred-5+ years of experience in over the top (OTT) content business development focused on negotiating content distribution deals.
  • Knowledge of the content and media distribution ecosystem preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders. Contract negotiation and drafting experience preferred.
