Join Our Team as Head Accountant, Financial Reporting
Are you ready to take charge of financial reporting and accounting policies for a dynamic and growing organization? Exxaro is seeking a highly skilled Head Accountant, Financial Reporting to lead our team in maintaining financial integrity and driving strategic financial decisions.
Position Overview:
As the Head Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing, compiling, and consolidating financial reporting results across our diverse portfolio of companies and legal entities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BCom (Hons) Accounting (Essential/Minimum)
• Chartered Accountant (CA) (Recommended/Desirable)
• Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

6-8 years Relevant Financial or Accounting experience with completed Articles; SAP exposure. Recommended experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Compliance, Income Tax, Companies Act and additional applicable frameworks. (Essential/Minimum) (Operational)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• SA Institute of Professional Accountants (Essential/Minimum or)
• Institute of Comm & Fin Accountants SA (Essential/Minimum or)
• Chartered Inst of Mng Acc (CIMA) (Essential/Minimum)
• SA Institute for Chartered Accountants (Essential/Minimum)
• Member of Professional Body (Recommended/Desirable)

Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

Ability to:

• Be responsible for analysing, compiling, and consolidating financial reporting results and to maintain all relevant general accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review of annual financial statements for the Exxaro group, company, and other legal entities within the group.
• To formulate, maintain, implement, and review financial reporting policies and procedures.
• To provide technical accounting advise and guidance to the business units, other operations and departments (including Growth and Strategic Finance departments) and the insurance company of Exxaro), as and when required.
• To adhere to financial reporting governance as set by group.
• Maintain and execute relevant general accounting policies and procedures.
