Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Head Housekeeper to join our award-winning Housekeeping team. This is a hands-on role, where the successful candidate will work alongside the team day to day to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The Head Housekeeper will lead and supervise the housekeeping department, including Room Attendants and public area cleaning staff, ensuring all areas of the hotel are immaculately presented.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a hands-on role within a hotel or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and housekeeping equipment.
- Willingness to work side-by-side with the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours as required.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead by example, working alongside Room Attendants on a daily basis to maintain cleanliness and uphold hotel standards.
- Train, mentor, and support staff, ensuring they meet high-performance standards and follow established procedures.
- Conduct daily briefings to communicate objectives, guest expectations, and any updates to the team.
- Operations Management:
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel facilities, ensuring they meet the hotel’s high standards.
- Assign daily tasks and rooms to Room Attendants, monitor their progress, and inspect completed work for quality control.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of room status and housekeeping assignments.
- Ensure the appropriate stock of cleaning supplies and amenities, managing inventory and placing orders as needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Regularly inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation are of the highest standard.
- Address any housekeeping issues or guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring swift resolution.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to report and follow up on any technical or repair needs.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee the correct use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment.
- Ensure that all staff adhere to hotel procedures for waste disposal and the safe use of cleaning products.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage staff rotas, schedules, and maintain housekeeping records.
- Assist in managing the housekeeping budget, including cost control for supplies and linen.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the recruitment process for new housekeeping staff.
