Position Overview:
The Head of Information Technology (Web Design & Development) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s web presence, technical infrastructure, and digital solutions. This role combines technical expertise with strategic vision to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge web solutions while maintaining robust IT systems that support our educational and creative missions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the organization’s website and web-based applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience
• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives
• Manage a team of web developers, designers, and IT professionals, providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Oversee the technical architecture and infrastructure of all web properties
• Implement best practices for web development, including responsive design, SEO, and accessibility standards
• Ensure website security, backup systems, and disaster recovery procedures are in place
• Collaborate with other departments to understand and implement their technical requirements
• Manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships
• Monitor and optimize website performance, conducting regular audits and updates
• Oversee the integration of various systems (CMS, LMS, payment gateways, etc.)
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Manage IT budget and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in web development and IT management
• 5+ years of team leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP)
• Experience with modern frameworks and CMS platforms
• Understanding of UI/UX principles
• Knowledge of IT security best practices
• Project management experience

Key Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in full-stack web development
• Expert knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization and SEO best practices
• Mastery of modern web frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
• Expertise in content management systems (WordPress, Drupal)
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and payment gateway integration
• Knowledge of web security protocols and best practices
• Proficiency in database management and API integration
• Understanding of web analytics and user behavior tracking
• Experience with cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Expertise in version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of automated testing and deployment processes
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Ability to optimize website load times and performance
• Experience with CDN implementation and management
