After five years of frequent interactions with different cities, we now have a better understanding of what kind of charging stations are needed for the public space in urban areas. Therefore we are are in progress of a new development of our next generation charging station. The hardware team is responsible for our in-house developed products, their design & prototyping, creation, production and health in the field. We have designed two generations of charging stations, 5 total devices as well as retrofit kits to give devices in the field we acquire a new life.
As a Product Development Engineer you would be part of our hardware team and be responsible for future development projects of our charging station & retrofit kits, this spans mechanical design, prototyping, testing & product introduction into our assembly line. This role is broad and has wide responsibilities - from R&D, to project management, always in close collaboration with the rest of the hardware team, i.e. electrical engineering and software development. This role reports into our head of hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all mechanical designs at Qwello, aligning with our mission and market needs.
- Prototype, test, and iterate on designs to meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering, software development, and operations teams.
- Drive projects from R&D to production, ensuring smooth introduction to the assembly line.
- Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for hardware development projects.
- Ensure product durability and long-term health in the field, supporting continuous improvements.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
