AGC Biologics is currently looking for a motivated and proactive Head of Accounting and Controlling with strong financial expertise and exceptional leadership skills for our Copenhagen office.
The accounting and controlling team consists of the Customer Finance Group (responsible for revenue recognition, revenue controls, and accounts receivables, etc.), the Account Payable Group (Account Payable, Payments, Outlays, etc.), and the Controller Group (responsible for accounting, controlling, and reporting, etc.). In this role, you will lead the Accounting and Controlling area in close collaboration with the leaders of each group and be responsible for providing leadership and guidance.
As the Head of Accounting and Controlling, you will be part of the Finance Department, which comprises 18 colleagues locally, and a Global Finance Network consisting of more than 60 colleagues. You will report to the VP of Finance in Copenhagen and be responsible as a people manager for the Controller Group and the leaders of the Customer Finance Group and the AP Group, currently 4 direct reports.
As the Head of Accounting and Controlling, you are expected to lead and manage the team to maintain a high level of professionalism and a culture of continuous improvement, playing a critical role in the finance department. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all transactions and processes including (but not limited to) monthly closing, AR/AP, revenue forecasting and profitability, IFRS15 compliance etc. Also, you will be responsible for the preparation of the company’s financial statement, transfer pricing documentation and tax returns, and you will manage both internal and external audits.
You will also be heavily involved in supporting the implementation of our new ERP system with go-live in 2025 and the implementation of the CRSD (ESG) framework in 2025.
In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide accurate financial information to the CPH Site Head and VP of Finance for decision-making. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality inputs to the auditor in the annual reports, including internal control testing.
Requirements for the position:
- Hold a master’s degree in economics and/or finance and have at least 6 years of experience as a leader at a senior finance level.
- Possess excellent knowledge of financial processes such as month-end closing, reporting, AR/AP, and process improvements.
- Have a hands-on approach.
- Must have strong leadership skills.
- Be proactive and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Enjoy solving complex tasks with a solution-oriented approach.
- Be excited to work with multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate with individuals across all levels and functions within the organization.
- Fluent English is a requirement, and fluency in another Scandinavian language is preferred.
- Experience working in an international matrix environment is a plus.
